6/14/2009 Why I haven't been at work / other stuff too..Hey all, Firstly, I must say that I'm not really in the mode of writing much these days. Then, for some strange reason I have decided to change the font ;-).. but surely you understand! I've been to work on a couple of shows recently, Brooks and Dunn, and Pink, but unfortunately have hit a few snags in trying to get to work for Pussycat Dolls / Lady Gaga and Crusty Demons. One story, I did myself an accidental injury at home and was very close to fracturing my left foot last Monday night, now almost a week later, I have nearly fully recovered use of it, thankfully~! (turns out it was the ligaments, still bad but not as bad as a fracture, obviously) ..so fingers crossed, I should be OK to work for Simon and Garfunkle's show and the WWE (Which will be a 'pleasant' change from music acts, i.e Entertaining, and Violent LOL). I recently also did some photography work for a local jazz/funk/rock musician by the name of Priam Bacich, who, if you read the rest of my blog(s), and check Google, has produced quite a vast body of work in the field of music. (Pending, a lot more publicity / marketing and distribution.) I think Just Music (or was it Mega Music?) stocks his solo album as does Metro Church on Beaufort Street, in Northbridge, Western Australia. So, basically put, the work I did for him recently on Rottnest Island and Lake Navarino were shots mostly for use in the new album cover, the music consisting of instrumental tracks inspired by these, and other scenic locations in Western Australia. When can we expect the latest work to be released? Hmm - I'll have to ask, then let you know.. I think Priam said either later this year or next year. I've also been spending alot of time on You-Tube and generally getting aquainted with friends' taste in music, mostly from the Rock / Pop genres, and have become somewhat borderline obsessed (in a good way) with Duffys' Rockferry album and the Killers' Day and Age, ever since I bought the albums and saw them live at the V Festival earlier this year @ Claremont Showgrounds. I actually won the tickets via MySpace, and had a great time, I even danced to The Killers' "Human" ("Are we human, or are we dancers") which I must say was most fun! Recently, whilst enrolled in my Screen Analysis unit at Griffith University (via Open Universities Australia - I study remotely - online and by corrspondence mostly) I made the mistake of allowing myself to grow lazy over the holidays prior, and in my state of extreme relaxation and lethargy it somehow slipped my mind to pre-order my textbook, which, as a result, I did not get until week 2 or 3. Maybe one who choses to watch movies for uni might not be the most motivated individual anyhow (joke) as it sounds easy, mind you, I'm also terribly distractable when watching films, like, I usually leave them going in the background while I do chores, and end up having to watch them at least twice in this fashion :-). ..to cut a long story short, I withdrew, in time, I thought to make the deadline to avoid penalty - SUPPOSEDLY. I still need to contact Open Unis or Griffith to straighten up the matter, however. I have up to a year to apply to have my FEE-HELP debt for that unit voided out, which can be done, in certain circumstances too. Also, I finally got around to uploading my videos and stills from my Sony Handycam to my desktop PC, but the footage was purely experimental (and I don't mean in a groovy, arthouse fashion either, I really didn't intend to make anything really worth publishing to the World Wide Web) hence I will have to shoot something properly entertaining and well shot for you all to watch, as soon as I'm at a jam session / function again or feeling otherwise artistically inclined! Anyway, that's all for now, will keep you posted, . Natalie Spa. 10/27/2008 DivX Videos coming soon, in 2009 - watch this space! As I've recently acquired a Sony HD Handycam, I will be posting more videos soon (in DivX format) to this blog, and on other places on the web.
Don't forget, an early sample of my work and favourite videos are also featured on my You Tube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/NatalieSpa You Tube is my current obsession with sometimes all day spent watching and commenting and so forth, so beware! It is mildly addictive!
Should you care to see an interractive CD ROM produced by myself and a few others, please do not hesitate to contact me either via n_spa1@hotmail.com or n_spa@yahoo.com.au...
Assignment 2So - I finally handed in my Curtin University assignment 1, and now have assignment 2 and the exam to work on. In the meantime, however, I have a lot more general Events study to do and am also to attend an exam preparation workshop at my uni. I will be working for the Red Bull Air Race still and Slipknot's Perth show, at the end of the month too. In the next couple of years I'm considering travelling abroad on a work+study endeavour, something that can earn big bucks as I want to be able to afford both my current apartment plus travel and accomodation costs overseas. I'm thinking of maybe a trip around either the USA or Europe for 6-12 months. Seeing as how my only committment is my current accomodation, belongings and cat, I'm free to travel again and enjoy the world. ..and of course, take my cameras and video equipment, laptop and so forth!
Once my end of study exam is done for this year I will be concentrating once again on portfolio requirements, including but not restricted to photography and web design, also the affairs of my hobby-come-business, such as ministry documents and taxation matters. Please don't ask me to work for you for nothing or next to nothing as your offer will be rejected - multimedia is expensive enough for me as is and I have plenty of things to work on for my startup / uni / EPA so basically if that's your plan - forget it!
I've been so busy of late I haven't even had time to properly connect the TV or Radio! Social networking sites and You-Tube being my main media divertions.
I still haven't unpacked all the boxes from moving.. yet.
10/10/2008 Communications MTM 304 Assignment.Well, as I might have mentioned before, I'm studying a unit in Event Management as part of a Communications degree at the moment. (I'm still working through a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia too, but have put that to one side for now.). Anyway, assignment 1 for me is due soon and I'm currently 1/3 of the way through it, the topic I dealt with first was the Red Bull Air Race. Anyhow, I'm having a break at the moment - just for coffee and a bite to eat - and will start up again either tonight or early tomorrow morning.. however I have been on a roll or so I think, and it's good to get as much done as possible in moments like that before procrastination sets in. I still haven't got around to using the online Curtin journal space provided to me - or the webspace, I just haven't had the time, between my main study objectives and everything else.
I'm working a couple of shifts for the Stevie Wonder concert over the 12th and the 14th (load in / load out) and have had to spend a fair bit of time this morning revising my household budget so that when the money comes in for that and other things (eg. bond) it goes to where it needs to, and doesn't get wasted. I've pracically finished the process of moving house to (an undisclosed location) and am really liking my new place, so far so good and all the hard work is beginning to pay off. I also need to put in a recognition of prior learning application with my folio (which is constantly being updated) in order to jump ahead a few units at uni - wish me luck!
If any close friends want to call for a chat tonight you already have my mobile phone numbers - I kinda feel like a chat!

9/18/2008 YouTube - Priam Bacich/El' Lupe - No Time to Hesitate
YouTube - Priam Bacich/El' Lupe - No Time to Hesitate Myself and a colleague shot and edited this video.. this was my first attempt at making a music video so bear with me but I did enjoy the task and the guys were great to work with. Priam has requested that I work on his next solo project also so we have some travel planned for that.. I'm looking forward to it and especially now that I have my new Sony handycam to produce videos in HD / DivX. I have much more study to do over the net surrounding that yet, and so far have only had a little time to spare between Curtin University and Event Personnel Australia, which I'm still working for. I'm slowly working through my degree, even doing extra-curricular work to count towards my portfolio for a Recognition of Prior Learning application. I'm also going to tidy up this blog so if text changes or photos go missing - don't worry, it's not your mind playing tricks - that was me, I did that, The best way for anyone I don't know personally to contact me is via email - but please - no lotteries or other spam/scams, as you will be ignored, or blacklisted. Please type "WEBSPACE FEEDBACK" in the subject line. My email addresses are listed in todays' previous blog entry. Bye for now.

9/15/2008 Suppose I should write..Well, I've started my studies at Curtin via Open Universities and while I should probably be typing on my university online journal I prefer to leave some information here as to how I think I'm progressing in my course. Initially, I experienced a number of difficulties with locating my study material. . as well as with the actual registration process but nothing I couldn't handle and nothing that would set me back too drastically. I am now familiar with the Curtin website as well as my study materials, and have begun the first few chapters of the textbook as well as having skimmed through the rest, and printed off hard copies and saved all of my course information including study guides and chapter summaries.
I'm hoping that whatever skills I practice in my blogs will somehow help by adding to and improving on my university skill sets, and am planning to edit some writing and features on my blogs in order to put forward a more positive image of myself to others.
I may have been successful in my application for a new apartment.. it's great, but I won't say where it is or even how much rent I will be paying online. Especially not now as my option is still being considered.. it's my cat CC that's the issue - and I've been promised a phone call tomorrow regarding the Strata Managers' decision on that.
So, come either tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday and the rest of the week I'll be not only studying and preparing for a uni assignment but in my time in-between if all goes well I'll be packing any non-essential household items. I still want to purchase some plastic storage crates from Bunnings or the like in order to help me transport like items such as stcks of fiction books and old files, spare clothes etc - basically items that I'll choose to keep in storage - at least until I have enough money to buy a decent bookshelf (the new place doesn't come with those). Thankfully the kitchen and bedroom have great cupboard space for all my cookware and clothing, etc.
Tuesday morning I'm bumping in the Judas Priest gig at Challenge Stadium as well as doing the bump-out.
Anyway, here's to keeping you all interested, intellectually speaking.
Natalie.
8/17/2008 You Tube / MySpace / FacebookHello everybody, just a quick blog entry to remind you of my alternate links: MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/nataliespa FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/srch.php?nm=Natalie+Spa YOU TUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/NatalieSpa Or should you want to email me my email addresses are: n_spa1@yahoo.com.au and n_spa1@hotmail.com Happy browsing! 8/7/2008 HahahaRED DWARF - HOLOSHIP - Part 1 - Follow the links for parts 2 and 3
I'll post more later... happy viewing! 8/5/2008 Zombie computers...?? Or similar...??Good morning, or evening, or whatever time it is when you read this!!
Well, not that good..
(My poor computer is running slow as today - it looks as though I need to do a thorough virus scan etc spybot SEARCH AND DESTROY and call IINET, aaaaaarrrgggghhhh.........)
And it seems to me that MySpace as been deleting my old blogs from the archives, so I'm not going to be bothered blogging much more on there... with the exception of space notices and 'ads'.
Aaaaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!
(Once I repair the problem I'll attempt to blog about something a little more interesting..) 7/27/2008 Risperdal Consta and weight..Well, I'm doing better on my reduced Risperdal, my weight is relativively stable (ahem, between 65-68kg - which is a bit high for me but means I'm curvy, I don't know my exact height..it's something like 160cm) but part of that is thanks to the baking I've been doing - sweet and savoury muffins, loafs and cupcakes), weeks I don't, I weigh 5 kilos less on average. Regardless, my weight over the past 10 years has varied between 48 and 70 kilos, 'thanks' to my varying mental states, and associated treatment programs. I'm relatively happy now because my 25mg depot of Risperdal Consta keeps me both emotionally stable and physically, resonbably fit. There are two reasons I'm making this public information, 1) For my own safety - "secresy breeds abuse" 2)For others going through the same thing, either patients of medical staff who might benefit from the information. (NOT for gossip! ).
7/21/2008 In the spirit of vitality..Today I updated my curriculum vitae - all 7 pages of it, and photocopyed my letters of reference. I'm close to finishing my portfolio, too, so now all I need to do to apply for jobs online is write some cover letters for whichever jobs I apply for. I will also be improving my blogs / profiles on both Windows Live and MySpace, so future employers or clients can view my work, at their leisure.
As I write this blog I'm watching a sermon by Joyce Meyer on 'Your Self-Image and Your Future', available from her ministry website. It is great for me to watch and listen to churches teaching, as a guiding force. I still also attend Metro's internet church from time to time..
..hope and pray for me that I can a) Be more successful in my field (The Arts / IT / Film industries - production, lighting, photography, web design) b) That I have peace in my neighbourhood, c) That my personal relationships work out, d) That my fathers' health improves, e) That my Recognition of Prior Learning queries and application go well, f) That, pending a) and e) - I find a suitable new accomodation.
"Pressing on"..
7/11/2008 Photos added to gallery..Just to let you know that two photos have been added to my gallery, one of me @ Skaters on Ice Mirrabooka in 2000, and the other taken on the west coast of WA, down South, most likely Margaret River or Esperance. 7/6/2008 Phone photos of R+RHere are some of the photos taken on my LG Viewty mobile phone. From left to right: Drinks at home with a friend on the weekend of Friday the 13th (that's Absolut Raspberry Vodka and a strawberry in that glass), myself again pictured at Bold Park with jazz/funk/rock guitarist and singer Priam Bacich, and a day off work at home. 6/27/2008 When I was young..6/24/2008 Links, to moviesResident Evil 3 - Extinction - I'M GOING TO WATCH IT NOW ON JOOX.
Being John Malkovich - LOL SUCH A WIERD MOVIE HAHA
Music Videos - Ladies' night @ home.Republica -Ready to go
Madonna - Ray of Light
Madonna - Frozen - I absolutely 'adore' the use of morphing (?) in this..eg. the scene where she falls and becomes a flock of crows. Ah I had a dog like that, Dobermanns are lovely creatures..and Madonna here is so Gothic, so beautiful!
Mariah Carey - Love takes Times - this song is so sad (sob) but very powerful. (If you can bypass the 80's-ness of it!!) I'll probably buy her new album in order to get aquainted with the tracks..
AAAAAAHHHH (Portishead!!) - Glory Box
Portishead - Eternal Sunshine (of the Spotless Mind) - Cool her hair colour looks like a colour I used to use - FERIA (Mango).
Bjork - Hunter - Hahaha I like the You Tube comments here - the music's kinda creepy, but God bless as are all things otherworldly or etherial!!
6/23/2008 RED DWARF!!!!!Some more favourite videos:
RED DWARF : Back to Reality
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVupRsbx8UM Read the comments - apparently I'm not the only person to have learnt the lines to Red Dwarf (while I was meant to have been studying TEE maths LOL P.S. It was worth it!!) If you can find the complete episode do watch it, it's hilarious.
RED DWARF - Demons and Angels Pt 1/3, links to parts 2 and 3..
6/21/2008 New photos..A quick note to announce that I've uploaded some new photos of myself to one of the albums so have a look-see!! 6/18/2008 Why not drop me a line?Good evening, just a quick note to say that if you are here reading this it would be great to hear from you, too. This is my old number and is not going to be in effect much longer however give it a go just for now, for the sake of leaving your comments or queries about this site.
My homework, and thoughts on health..Well, business anyhow. I woke up this morning thinking about business structure (which is great for an early start). Things are really shaping up generally and I have meticulous planning to thank for that. Also, I have been duly inspired by others including people I know from MetroChurch and other ministries to get my arse into gear. I won't write up much on the business side of things here but my "freelance" studies are coming along nicely too and I'm even finding the tax system relatively simple to understand, even uni enrollment which I've been known to have some trouble with in the past.
I am blessed of late with a healthy central nervous system - which is something I've been working on intensely for quite some time with the help and cooperation of my specialists and some old school herbal medicine as a complimentary therapy - for example, green tea, ginseng, ginko, omega 3/6, vitamin C etc. I really like that Berry-V Energy Drink with Ginko. Shame about the sugar though. Apparently I'm in a higher-than-average risk group for diabetes, due to my psych meds etc. so I need to be extra careful with my diet. That of course helps with brain woes too but thankfully my concentration, attention and intellect are "perfect" or at least adequate and thankfully the only complaint I have is that I CAN'T detach from situations. That and my memory absolutely sucks, which doesn't really matter as much with access to technology.
I've really been dedicating alot of my time to researching on the web in order to learn more about my body including proper nutrition and have achieved a stable, ok weight for my age, although I'd prefer 5 kilos less (I KNOW I'd be healthier, happier, etc!), the Risperdal factor (used also off-label for anorexia) remains and while I've been offered the opportunity to remain only on oral medication the depot injection has much less side-effects and more readily acheives a steady-state, which is very important for emotional stability.. although I still find it extremely difficult to handle stressful situations, ie. angry or annoying people. My motor, writing and social skills are improving too thanks more specifically to a reduction in the Ris. Consta (Risperidone lowers dopamine and seretonin (two important neurotransmitters responsible for regulating mood), which in turn produces depression, social anxiety and poor coordination - "thanks doc" yeah and while I'm at it "thanks" for tricking my body into thinking it's been pregnant - prolactin! (Of course a quick web search will tell you what THAT does, and more improtantly, WHEN in life it is necessary.) and of course ginseng although it does tend to raise testosterone levels which buggs me as it makes my skin bad. Aaargh but at least that's the worst of things over, and I can go back to being myself again instead of someone else. Anyway, the reason I've decided to, for the best part, objectively detail my medical history here is purely one of extrapolation - when the "system" doesn't work, try another. Then help others by informing them of your progress, methodology etc.
Mega-thanx to Priam for sticking by my though out all of this too, of course! Whew. Psychiatry is definately wierd science.
6/8/2008 Some more interesting clips..I'm back at work again soon so I'll be able to blog on live gigs again soon..
GARBAGE - Breaking Up the Girl
EVANESCENCE - Sweet Sacrifice
CITIZENS COMMISSION OF HUMAN RIGHTS:
JAMIROQUAI - Corner of the Earth - This song feeds right into my 'classic example of an only child' mentality "Hey darling / don't you see the sun is shining / just for you / only today" and the rest feeds into the "Hippie-chick in me" (Anastacia).
XMen 3 - Dark Phoenix's Tragedy - this one has treatment order written all over it...
6/7/2008 More clips.. favourites, extended.Hi there, I posted a few more songs I like, so you can get to know me better, basically stuff I relate to.
SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR..
Music Gets the Best of Me - This song I find totally uplifting - it also reminds my of a particular spirit or vibe surrounding me when I was working both in fashion and music photography, around the year 2000. I was so happy around that time. I had a great group of friends and my career was looking up. I was also in love, not just with a lovely man but with life in general.
..featuring Spiller - Groovejet, If this aint Love
DJ SAMMY -featuring Yanou - Heaven
RISE
KYLIE MINOGUE - In Your Eyes - I absolutely love the scene with the ribbons - watch it in HD if you can! This song doesn't doesn't make my heart sink, it's too fast for that. Also - obviously, the song wasn't written with me in mind haha. Often alot of the music I listen to is deep and meaninful, often sorrowful (not always a healthy activity for an empath) so I recently made a switch to dance music - Ministry of Sound basically and Godskitchen which worked as a complimentary therapy for my depression, along with writing my thoughts and planning my days more effectively.
ROBERT MILES - Children - Reminds me of when I was young, travelling with my parents. We drove to a number of places around Western Australia, mostly travelling in our campervan so that we didn't have to manage without the luxuries of home. If I can find and digitize some old home movie like I said before I will and if I get the time will post some clips from them here as well. I personally have managed to successfully avoid getting pregnant myself, which means I have much more time and money to spend for my income, and am free to travel or move house relatively easily. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe that mine was an easy path.. and I always feel that should I marry the right person the descision to have kids would be a natural, logical one.
One and One - "It's alright to fall apart sometimes" - What my psych nurse told me too, LOL. I like the instrument he's playing in this - easier to lift too (I occasionally move pianos and other musical instruments as part of my job). I used to write, sing and play music - the piano (and also put on performances for family and friends) from a very young age until aproximately the age of 13 but gave it up when I discovered computers (which I must say I am very good with), iceskating (though I did reach competitive levels I didn't compete) I quit iceskating when I entered the psychiatric system for 'emotional problems' as the medications they gave me negatively affected my fitness levels. I have some old photos from when I was maybe 4 years old experimenting with sounds or doing something like that. I am currently stable.
RADIOHEAD - Street Spirit - This would be a great song to end a concert with - especially a show like the Big Day Out or similar - it makes me think of crowds dispersing.
6/2/2008 CLIPS and TRAILERS - You Tube linksMUSIC VIDEOS:

The Chemical Brothers - Block Rockin' Beats
